MintTec cares for the environment. All returned equipment goes through a testing process in our recycling facilities to assess the options available – wherever possible equipment will be reused through charity schemes or local schools. Any equipment that is not viable for continued operation is recycled or disposed of following the WEEE (Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment) and RoHS (Restriction of Hazardous Substances) Directives.
The European Commission has adopted these two proposals for the recovery of waste equipment and the restriction of the use of certain hazardous substances in electrical and electronic equipment. The Directives are designed to tackle the rapidly increasing stream of waste electrical and electronic equipment and complements European Union measures on landfill and incineration of waste.
